Awareness on Nutrition in locally available food materials at Educational Model Village

Awareness meeting was scheduled at Sujjaluru, Hyakanuru and Mavinahalli – Pratham Mysore’s Educational model villages on 8th and 14th September 2023 to aware communities on locally available nutritious food sources to lead a healthy life. Briefing on the concept of Pancha Poshana (5 nutrients) and foods, rich in these nutrients Ms. Ratna Rajaiah, Health and Nutrition vertical head said that there is an urgent need to create awareness on importance of locally available food resources and its usage to ensure a clean and healthy life.

As follow-up task, food competition would be organized in all the model villages involving both male and female participants. Respective village community members, SDMC, parents, gram panchayat members participated to understand the importance of Nutrients in diet.

On the same occasion Mr. Chandrasekhar, Organic farmer, Sujjaluru addressed the participants on the importance of Organic cultivation and the hazardous effects of chemicals on the health of both earth and mankind.
